BEAUTIFUL
AFTERNOON

I made a loss today, there was nothing I could do
Just watched it slip away, a bit like I did with you
But hey, the sun is shining and the sky is blue
The birds are singing and now I am too
And I’ve bought myself a beautiful afternoon
I missed a chance today, just stood and watched it
rolling by
I could’ve been out there making hay, but there’s no sun left in the
sky
And now the weather girl, she says it looks like snow
I’m going to grab my sled and just you watch me go
Cos I’ve bought myself a beautiful afternoon
Hey, when it’s gone it’s gone
Being here has got me so turned on
The news was bad today, seems like the world’s out
of control
And we’ll all have to pay to dig ourselves out of this hole
Well, when the thunder comes I know just what I’ll do
I’m going to run outside and get myself soaked right through
Cos I’ve bought myself a beautiful afternoon
Hey, when it’s gone it’s gone
Being here has got me so turned on
I heard from you today, you won’t be coming round
no more
And nothing I can say will make things like they were before
But hey, it might be raining, but I don’t care
Cos I can feel the wind and I can smell fresh air
And I’ve bought myself a beautiful afternoon
