They call themselves the TuneFinders. Five diverse individuals with an uncanny ability to pick a hit tune met in the shadowy world of Internet message boards and decided to share their discoveries and promote the artists who create them, With a combined wry sense of humour, an available record label, experience in sound engineering, programming and web design, and an abundance of tenacious enthusiasm they launched IndieNetunes - a division of Open Heart Records - in the summer of 2004, The entire project is funded and implemented by the group. Each member contributes based on abilities. Hard work and money carry the same value. The Internet has long been touted as the vehicle that will level the playing field for new independent musicians; but searching through the volume of music on line is daunting to most people. With that in mind, the TuneFnders created a unique mellow to hard metering system that ranks songs by mood. Currently there are two Internet radio stations KWINT Lite and Rock to showcase the music. Every song and artist is identified and each artist is featured on individual web pages. Music fans have the opportunity to purchase the music in two formats; digital downloads and custom compilation CDs with ten to fifteen songs that the customer picks and the 'gnomes' at iNt produce and mail directly to the consumer. Because the mission is to promote and support indie music, the artists receive a generous portion of the sales price. In addition, the fundraising CD Independent Artist Aid - Hope Never Dies is available as a special full-album purchase...in this case all profits will be donated to the Mercy Corps Asian Tsunami Relief Campaign. With a downhome vibe and ever growing catalogue of great music IndieNetunes offers a distinct web experience for music fans and a voice for the talented unsigned artists across the globe.
